Knowledge of plants and horticulture is a critical element of landscaping. Landscape design, however, requires an artistic component as well. The principles of landscape design include elements of unity, scale, balance, simplicity, variety, emphasis, and sequence as they apply to line, form, texture, and color. Add a dash of your personal taste and aesthetics, and the result is a unique outdoor living space for your pleasure and relaxation. Have you purchased a new home and want the landscaping to reflect your character, and not that of the previous owners? Are you getting ready to sell a home and wish to increase curb appeal? Our landscape designers at Lotus Home Improvement is here to help!
If you love to entertain and your home is the go-to place for get togethers, parties and family functions, why not consider an outdoor kitchen? Grilling outdoors is great, but adding a custom kitchen island to your deck or patio will increase your entertainment square footage and free up your inner foodie to play outdoors. And the great news is, you don’t need a huge space to create a custom cookspace. Whether you have a modest deck or patio or a larger space, Lotus Home Renovation will help you design the perfect outdoor kitchen space to compliment your home.
Rather than upgrading to a larger home, many people are looking to expand their living space outdoors. As a result, patios are becoming larger, more luxurious, and more sheltered. Outdoor patios have become hubs of activity geared towards entertaining and relaxing. A well-designed patio will not only add additional living space to your home, but also increase its resale value. Since your patio will provide the foundation for your outdoor living space, it will need to be durable, well-constructed and attractive. Our landscape designers at Lotus Home Improvement will help you determine what size, shape and style of patio that best suits your needs.
The ideal garden is not defined solely by the plants and flowers that grow in it. Other features of a garden or outdoor area are essential elements of molding the space’s overall look and feel. The sound of flowing water can instantly make an outdoor space a peaceful retreat. Our water features include fountains, artificial brooks or streams, and koi ponds. Water features are a unique touch that don’t require a lot of space. If your outdoor area is relatively small, the landscape designers at Lotus Home Improvement will be more than happy to help you design a custom water feature to fit the space allowed.
Landscape Design Planning Process
Step 1: Landscape Design Survey Filling this survey out provides us with an idea of your interests, ideas, issues and use of space so that our landscape design consultant comes prepared.
Step 2: Initial Meeting Our landscape designer will meet you at your home to discuss your project, design ideas, budget and to evaluate the site. If you would like to move forward and have a design created for your project, the next step is to sign a design planning agreement. There is a fee associated for the design work based on the scope of your project. This design planning agreement does not obligate you to install with us, however, should you choose to do so, we will deduct the fee from your project cost. Once signed, we ask you to provide your landscape designer with a copy of your plat of survey so they can begin the site inspection.
Step 3: Site Inspection Your landscape designer will then take measurements and photos of the site, identify potential concerns and discuss any other ideas or questions you may have. At Lotus Home Improvement, we value and respect saving and donating any plants not being used.
Step 4: Materials Meeting A second meeting will be made to select materials for your project. Your landscape designer will provide sample options, which may include pavers, deck finishes, water features, lighting fixtures and any other product being used in your landscape project. With design refinements, selections and further assessment taking place, we will work to finalize the budget, and create a finished design and detailed landscape design contract.
Step 5: Design Presentation and Landscape Design Contract At this meeting, your landscape designer will walk you through the proposed changes to your space. Signing the landscape design contract is the final step which initiates a start date for your project. We pride ourselves on creating accurate contracts, providing realistic schedules, and ensuring systematic quality control for an outstanding end result. We will have discussed budget and we do offer several financing options. Contact us today to schedule your free, no obligation consultation.
